The HomeGround team is made up of professionals and consultants with wide-ranging experience across the Organisational Development, Human Resources, Employee Engagement and Employee Wellbeing fields. About Our Founder –
Serena Naidu

HomeGround Advantage Consulting Founder and Practice Lead

Serena is an Industrial Psychologist with over 20 years experience in the public and private sector. She founded HomeGround Advantage Consulting with the aim of making a difference in the lives of Southern African employees and organisations.

As a specialist in Organisational Development, Serena has had the opportunity to design and implement people and team-effectiveness programmes in various organisations. These programmes have included assessing organisation’s culture and climates, implementing organisational change plans, Employee engagement tactics and psychometric assessments using a variety of tools.

As one of a handful of Barrett Values Centre accredited trainers in South Africa, she is equipped to both assess and consult on the culture of an organisation as well as train on the Cultural Transformation Tools.

Serena’s experience as an executive and leadership coach, together with her diagnostic tools, work with both individuals and teams to support them to reach their full potential.

Serena’s passion for people is what sets her apart from many other consultants. Her ability to easily relate to all people and her willingness to help everyone succeed is just one of the qualities that distinguishes her.

Serena holds a Masters degree in Social Science and is a registered Industrial Psychologist. This foundation combined with her in-depth experience across the various organisations and industries contributes to her proficiency to offer specialist advice on:

Cheryl De Beer

HomeGround Advantage Consulting – Employee Wellbeing and Leadership Coaching

Cheryl is a highly experienced subject matter expert who specialises in Employee Wellbeing and Organisational Development. Cheryl has spent much of her career in the Employee Wellbeing field and has experience in strategy formulation and setting of policy as well as strategic wellbeing initiatives and EAP programmes.
Cheryl’s corporate and management consulting experience also includes working with organisational culture transformation with a specific focus on the implementation of surveys as part of culture diagnostics. She has experience in the culture diagnostics field both with the Barrett CTT tools and the Competing Values Framework (CVF) as well as managing the implementation of organisational diagnostic processes end to end.

Cheryl has a BA Soc. Sc. (Social Science) degree and has also completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching through SACAP (South African College of Applied Psychology) which is accredited with both the ICF and COMENSA. As a professional coach, Cheryl has a particular interest in leadership transformation and personal growth.

In her career to date, both in the corporate finance sector as well as in the management consulting field, Cheryl has developed specialist competence in:

  • Employee wellness, she is considered an expert in the field which would include the development of wellness strategies as well as day to day operational execution.
  • Strategy development and operational management of strategic wellness programmes
  • Applying expertise in planning and delivering enterprise-wide organisational culture diagnostics.
  • Applied learning and research to support innovation in the above fields.
  • Stakeholder and vendor management – during Cheryl’s career she has spent much time in managing stakeholder relationships that include executive and senior management; collective staff base as well contracting with and managing relationships with a wide range of external vendors in large organisations.
  • Cheryl’s has valuable coaching experience in the NPO sector supporting women-led small business.

Karen Davidson

Internal communications and employee engagement specialist

Karen is a dedicated consultant with over 19 years of project experience. While Karen has knowledge and experience of all project management, her most notable project experience is in HR and employee-related projects.  As an employee engagement specialist Karen has worked closely on various Organisational Development projects as well as established and managed an internal communications function for one of South Africa’s top 4 banks.

Through her experience as a Communications Manager, she was able to acquire extensive knowledge on employee communications, branding, HR and change management.

In her external consulting capacity, Karen has been a part of the HomeGround Consulting team and has assisted with the implementation of culture tools, a compilation of strategic and project communications, and has provided event management support for culture change events. Karen has contributed to culture transformation, change management and employee engagement projects across a wide range of organisations and industries.

Karen holds a BComm degree with majors in Business Management, Marketing, and Industrial & Organisational Psychology, and BComm Honours in Industrial & Organisational Psychology. She also completed a Management Advancement Programme through Wits Business School and finished in the top 3 out of all participants in her programme.

    Anine is a seasoned behavioural scientist, registered Industrial & Organisational Psychologist , OD Consultant and Coach with over 10 years’ experience in Leadership coaching.

    She is skilled at Leadership Coaching and facilitating leadership interventions and team effectiveness interventions together with growing emotional intelligence and  personal mastery skills.

    As an industrial psychologist, Anine is seasoned in the arena of psychometric assessments.

    Her work experience spans across diverse business  industries such as Management Consulting, Financial services, FMCG and Motor Manufacturing.

    Anine is a certified Insights Practitioner, trained in design thinking and cultural transformation tools, certified on Prosci change management practices and accredited on a broad range of psychometric assessments.

    Professional experience:

    Anine’s corporate experience spans over 16 years within the areas of Consulting in HR, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, OD, Culture Transformation,  Change Management and L&D, with her passion being OD and Coaching.

    Her significant achievements span across managing dynamics as relates to  leadership and cultural transitions and issues. She has managed, supported and assisted with a large scale cultural change for a manufacturing plant and led the  Cultural integration post-merger across regionally based manufacturing sites.

    She has been involved in merger processes and one such example involved playing an integral part on a merger, responsible for research, benchmarking and developing of policies and processes for Talent Management and Performance Management of the new entity.

    Anine has developed and designed various bespoke workshops based on the needs of specific teams or departments.

    Over her career, she has received various awards as an HR practitioner and OD consultant.

    Anine’s operates with the philosophy that all individuals want to be seen, heard and valued, and that most people have the answers they are searching for, within them. Due to her observational and analytical skills, her diverse working background and experience, her resilience and ability to thrive under pressure and curious nature, she is able to develop unique insights to support individuals, teams and organisations.
